Beautiful

Good Morning 👋. How were your devotions this AM 🌞? What is God telling you through what you read? 📖

I am in Acts Chapter 3 right now. Where that lame guy at the gate called Beautiful. Peter and John are passing through like everyone else to get into the temple. The lame guy is in his 40's and has been this way all of his life. He is a professional beggar.

There are two things that really stood out to me:

Length: Under a minute

Makes me think of the things God needs to speak into our lives. He first needs our attention, like the lame man. Then be open and willing to receive whatever God has in store for us. We think 🤔we know what we want. But God knows everything. Then we find that what we receive is beyond anything we could ever imagine. I'm not talking about bunnies🐰, rainbows 🌈 or unicorns 🦄 either. This life is tough. Adversity can strangely produce beauty. Look at the lame man.

So let me apply this to my life for today

1. Does God have my attention today? Or am I going through the routine just trying to get through another day? If not would you like to learn how to listen?

2. Am I trusting God when His answer is not the silver and gold I was anticipating?
